My client had a tubular
frame system which clipped together when required, but when not in use it
had to be stored. He commissioned me to design and make a hinged hood system,
he had the basic idea but left me to get on and get it working.
I took dimensions from the car and made a jig, As you can see from the piccies
it was quite a complicated hinged system. The bottom set were linked so the
assembly could fold correctly, when lifted a tube slid down over the links
to make the structure solid. The top set were inter linked so when pulled
back were solid and could suspend the canvas hood with tension.
